Powerful, yet easy-to-use Quality Control tools for medical imaging

PLEASANTON, CA - (November 4, 2009) – PACSGEAR, the leading provider of document and multimedia connectivity solutions for hospitals and healthcare facilities, today announced the addition of GEARView™ QC, a simple and powerful Quality Control tool for PACS. Planned for launch at the upcoming RSNA Annual Meeting, GEARView QC provides intuitive functionality for viewing, importing, editing, printing, burning and sending DICOM studies to PACS.

Based on GEARView, PACSGEAR’s new medical image and results visualization technology, GEARView QC lets PACS administrators fix common demographic errors in any DICOM field, as well as visually edit studies to split/combine exams or add/remove images. Studies can also be anonymized by masking burned-in annotations. An optional robotic disc reader called Stacker™ can be added to automate the manual process of importing DICOM CDs/DVDs. Stacker can process up to 50 CDs/DVDs in a single batch.

"Our customers wanted a QC tool to make day-to-day PACS administration easier. Adding QC functionality to GEARView was a natural extension," said Brian J. Cavanaugh, President of PACSGEAR. "GEARView QC gives our customers a core set of QC tools consistent with our ‘It just works’ design philosophy. PACS Administrators and front office personnel alike will appreciate GEARView QC’s power and simplicity."

GEARView QC will be featured at PACSGEAR’s Booth #7721 at the 95th Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA 2009) in Chicago from November 29 – December 4, 2009.
