Affordable Video Recorder Connects Non-DICOM Devices to PACS/EHR

PLEASANTON, CA - (November 13, 2007) - PACSGEAR, Inc., the leader in document and multimedia connectivity for PACS/EHR, today announced the introduction of PacsSCAN Video™, an affordable video capture solution. PacsSCAN Video, which digitally records still images and video clips from a wide variety of standard and non-standard formats, will be featured at the upcoming RSNA Annual Meeting in Chicago. PacsSCAN Video provides visible light connectivity to image-intensive departments such as radiology, cardiology, gastroenterology, dermatology and pathology.

PacsSCAN Video captures and sends video from non-DICOM scopes, cameras and other sources found in endoscopy, ultrasound and fluoroscopy to PACS/EHR. It builds on PacsSCAN’s easy to use interface and allows anyone to capture, annotate and edit video without prior knowledge of PACS. Additionally, the product allows customers to scan documents, create electronic forms and import multimedia files – JPEGs, AVIs, MPEGs, and DICOM CDs/DVDs.

"PacsSCAN Video is another quality PACSGEAR product that makes enterprise image integration easier," said Brian J. Cavanaugh, President of PACSGEAR. "Previously, sending video to PACS has been cost prohibitive for many departments. This solution gives our customers a simple, affordable way to capture images throughout the entire hospital."
